Group H: Tsunoda stars as Yokohama F. Marinos edge Sydney FC

Ho Chi Minh City: Ryotaro Tsunoda struck 10 minutes from time to give Yokohama F Marinos a hard-earned 1-0 win over Sydney FC in Group H of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 on Friday in Ho Chi Minh City as the Japanese side kept to within a point of leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Tsunoda struck having earlier missed a gilt-edged chance to give F Marinos the lead, the 22-year-old redeeming himself with a winner that squirmed past Sydney goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne.
 
The win moves the Japanese side onto six points from their first three games and sees Kevin Muscat’s side bounce back following a 1-0 loss to Jeonbuk in their last game on Tuesday. Yokohama are now second in the standings, one behind Jeonbuk with Sydney in third on two points.

Ho Chi Minh: Substitute Moon Seon-min scored three minutes into injury time to claim a 1-0 victory for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on Friday as the two-time winners maintained their unbeaten start to Group H of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 in dramatic fashion.

Moon struck with time ticking down to move Jeonbuk onto seven points from their first three games and into pole position in the standings as the group phase reaches the halfway stage.

HAGL, meanwhile, remain bottom of the table after being denied a second draw of the campaign and the Vietnamese side’s hopes of a place in the knockout rounds suffered a major blow due to Moon’s late strike.

Buriram: Vissel Kobe produced a dominant performance to run out emphatic 6-0 winners over Chiangrai United at the Buriram Stadium on Friday to move top of Group J of the AFC Champions League™ 2022.

Yuya Osako’s early goal opened the floodgates before Koya Yuruki’s brace and a Yuta Goke strike saw the Japanese side go into the interval with a commanding four-goal lead.
