Vinh: Hanoi T&T will go into their AFC Champions League 2015 Preliminary Round 2 meeting with Persib Bandung on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Song Lam Nghe An in their last domestic fixture before Tuesday’s crucial continental club clash with the Indonesians.
Song Lam took a 13th minute lead through Ghanaian striker Abubakar Mahadi before Hanoi T&T’s second defeat of the 2015 V.League 1 season was sealed when Nguyen Quang Tinh struck four minutes into second-half stoppage time.
Hanoi T&T, quarter-finalists in last year’s AFC Cup, host a Persib Bandung side who also lost their last fixture ahead of the ACL preliminary when they went down 2-1 in extra-time to Arema in the Inter Island Cup final last Sunday.
The victorious side Tuesday’s match at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi will face 2013 AFC Champions League runners-up FC Seoul in the South Korean capital on February 17, with the winner taking the final place in Group H of this year’s ACL.
