Huistra credits brilliant Caio for Pakhtakor's AFC Champions League loss to Sharjah

Sharjah: Pakhtakor head coach Pieter Huistra heaped praise on Sharjah FC winger Caio who led the home side to a 4-1 victory over the Uzbekistan club on Matchday Three of Group B in the 2021 AFC Champions League on Tuesday.

Caio's curled free-kick was denied by goalkeeper Sanjar Kuvvatov before Khaled Bawazir tapped-in the rebound to break the deadlock before Dragan Ceran equalised for Pakhtakor. Caio then set up Salem Saleh for Sharjah's second and drove home their third himself and his fellow Brazilian Luan Pereira completed the rout late in the second half.

Sharjah: Islamic Republic of Iran’s Tractor FC extended their unbeaten run in the 2021 AFC Champions League Group B to three games as they played out a 0-0 draw against Iraq’s Air Force Club on Matchday Three at Sharjah Stadium on Tuesday.

Both teams came into their first-ever encounter in the competition on the back of goalless draws in the previous game, with Tractor having also drawn their Matchday One fixture against Pakhtakor and Air Force beaten by group hosts Sharjah on the opening day.

Riyadh: Two late strikes saw AGMK come back from a goal down to beat Shabab Al Ahli Dubai 2-1 to revive their hopes in Group A of the 2021 AFC Champions League on Wednesday.

Jovan Dokic drew AGMK level in the 88th minute after Ahmed Alhashmi had given Shabab Al Ahli a first half lead and Akramjov Kamilov completed a dream comeback with the winner in added time.

It was a magnificent performance from the Uzbekistan club as they sealed their first ever win in the group stage of the AFC Champions League, with victory taking them to four points.
