It's not over yet, says Al Faisaly's Boyle after late equaliser

Dammam: Striker Martin Boyle is determined to cross the finishing line after rescuing a valuable point at the death for his Al Faisaly side in a 1-1 draw against Al Wehdat in Group E of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 on Saturday.

An exciting affair at Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium looked set to end goalless but erupted into life in stoppage time with substitute Ahmed Iswairah heading Al Wehdat into the lead. The Jordanians’ joy was short-lived as Boyle got on the end of Julio Tavares’ nodded header to drive home the equaliser with the very last kick of the ball.

Al Hilal players showed grit till the end, says Diaz

Riyadh: Al Hilal SFC head coach Ramon Diaz praised his players for showing amazing fighting spirit to earn a 2-2 draw against UAE’s Sharjah in Group A of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 on Saturday. 

Al Hilal trailed by two goals and were staring down the barrel of defeat with less than 13 minutes to play but the defending champions persevered to level the tie with goals from Muteb Al Mufarrij and Salem Al Dawsari.

Al Hilal lead the standings with 13 points, while already eliminated Sharjah are five behind Qatar’s Al Rayyan, who defeated Istiklol 1-0 earlier on Saturday.
