Muscat leaves Melbourne Victory after 14 years at club
Melbourne: Kevin Muscat resigned as Melbourne Victory head coach by mutual agreement on Monday, ending his 14-year association with the A-League powerhouse.
His departure follows a 6-1 defeat by Sydney FC in the A-League semi-finals this month, with his last game in charge to be the final 2019 AFC Champions League Group F clash against Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Wednesday. Victory are bottom of the group and already eliminated.
The former Socceroo, who had stints at Wolves, Crystal Palace and Rangers during a long playing career, said he would take a break and then look for a new challenge.
Al Wakrah: Al Duhail fought back from a goal down to defeat Al Sadd 4-1 in the final of the Qatar Amir Cup at the newly-built Al Janoub Stadium on Thursday.
Brazilian winger Edmilson was Al Duhail's star, scoring a brace and assisting another as Duhail denied Al Sadd the chance to add the Amir Cup to the 2018-19 Qatar Stars League title they had already won.
Defeat meant a losing end for Spanish legend Xavi, who was playing his final match for Al Sadd.

Riyadh: Rui Vitória’s Al Nassr were crowned 2018-19 Saudi Pro League champions after their 2-1 over Al-Batin on Thursday ensured they finished a point above Al Hilal to claim their eighth league title.
The race for the Saudi Pro League title went down to the wire, with Al Hilal chasing their third title in a row and needing a win against Al-Shabab, provided Al Nassr slipped up against Al Batin - to seal the title.
