Bandar-e Anzali: Piroozi's winless run extended to five matches on Thursday when the 2012 ACL side were beaten 2-0 by lowly Malavan in their Iran Pro League Round 18 meeting at the Takhti Stadium.
Mohsen Mosalman, who was one of the youngest players to appear in the IPL when he turned out for Zob Ahan at the age of 16, opened the scoring a minute into first-half stoppage-time before Alireza Ramezani sealed the win with a 79th minute penalty as Piroozi remained ninth in the 18-team Iran Pro League.
Piroozi are in Group D of this year's AFC Champions League where they will face Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, ACL regulars Al Gharafa from Qatar and the winner of the West Zone playoff clash between Al Shabab of the UAE and Uzbekistan's Neftchi.
