Ulsan: Ulsan Hyundai can move to the top of Group F in the AFC Champions League if they defeat current table-toppers Shanghai SIPG at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium on Tuesday.
The 2012 winners claimed an impressive 2-2 draw in Shanghai last week as Richard Windbichler and Kim In-sung twice put Ulsan in front, only to see Oscar level shortly after on each occasion.
While Ulsan remain unbeaten on the continent, they have struggled at the beginning of their domestic season and their 2-0 defeat to Sangju Sangmu at the weekend was their second successive K League 1 reversal.
Last week’s stalemate in China was only the third time Shanghai SIPG had failed to win at home in 13 games in the competition, but they remain two points clear and undefeated at the top of the standings.
Vitor Pereira’s side also lead the way in the Chinese Super League, with their 2-0 victory over city rivals Shanghai Shenhua at the weekend maintaining their perfect start to the domestic season.
