Pathum Thani: Their AFC Champions League™ 2022 knockout stage hopes are at the mercy of results elsewhere, but Melbourne City FC head coach Patrick Kisnorbo urged his players to focus on the things they can control in Saturday’s Matchday Six clash against United City FC.

The path to the Round of 16 remains complicated for the tournament debutants, with results from Pathum Thani and beyond potentially having an impact on their chances. 

Currently second in Group G, Melbourne City will be hoping that Jeonnam Dragons can use Saturday’s early match to defeat, or even draw with group leaders BG Pathum United, which would then give the Australian club the opportunity to top the section with a positive result of their own.

Pathum Thani: BG Pathum United head coach Makoto Teguramori has told his players to take control of their AFC Champions League™ 2022 destiny by defeating Jeonnam Dragons in their final Group G fixture on Saturday.

The group hosts have the opportunity to secure top spot in the section and advance to the knockout stage for the second successive season, with a further three points to take them out of sight of second-placed Melbourne City, who currently sit two points behind.
 
Should BG Pathum fail to win, their situation becomes far trickier, potentially opening the door for the A-League champions to claim top spot, a scenario which would leave Makoto Teguramori’s side relying on other results on Saturday and Sunday to determine their ranking amongst the second-placed teams in other groups.
