Tianjin: Tianjin Teda followed up their 3-0 home loss to Nagoya Grampus in Matchday 3 of the 2012 ACL with a 2-1 defeat to Guangzhou R&F at the same venue in their Chinese Super League (CSL) Round 5 fixture on Sunday.
Tianjin were keen to get back to winning ways after last Tuesday's loss to Nagoya that left Josip Kuze's side anchored at the foot of Group G but there was to be more disappointment on the home front as Guangzhou R&F, who are under the helm of Pohang Steelers' 2009 AFC Champions League-winning coach Sergio Farias, scored twice in a two-minute spell early in the second-half to lay the foundations of Tianjin's third CSL defeat.
Davi (Davi Rodrigues de Jesus) opened the scoring four minutes into the second-half of the match at the Tianjin Teda Stadium before his Brazilian compatriot Rafael Coelho (Rafael Coelho Luiz) doubled Guangzhou's advantage just two minutes later.
Dutch striker Sjoerd Ars, who is on-loan at Tianjin from Bulgarian side Levski Sofia, reduced the deficit in the 76th minute with his second CSL goal but Guangzhou held on for the win that took them to the top of the table and left Tianjin languishing in 14th position in the 16-team league.
