Group E: Eastern (HKG) 2-3 Sanfrecce Hiroshima (JPN)

Hong Kong: Hayato Araki broke Eastern SC hearts with a header deep into stoppage time that give Sanfrecce Hiroshima a 3-2 win over the Hong Kong Premier League side in Group E of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024-25 at Mong Kok Stadium on Thursday.

Araki pounced in the sixth minute of added time to seal victory for the Japanese side after Noah Baffoe’s goal early in the second half had looked set to earn Roberto Losada’s team a share of the points.

Daniel Almazan’s seventh minute header gave Eastern the lead until quick-fire goals in the 40th and 41st minutes by Hiroya Matsumoto and Yotaro Nakajima put Hiroshima in front only for Baffoe to equalise inside the opening 30 seconds of the second half.

The result means Hiroshima and Sydney FC share top spot in the group while both Eastern and Kaya-FC Iloilo have yet to pick up a point.

Group A: Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women's FC (KOR) 3-0 Sabah FA (MAS)

Wuhan: Tereza Engesha netted twice as Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women's FC kicked off their AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 Group A campaign with a 3-0 win over Malaysia's Sabah FA on Thursday.

The victory gives the side from Korea Republic the early lead in the standings, ahead of UAE's Abu Dhabi Country Club who defeated Wuhan Jiangda Women's FC of China PR 2-1 in the earlier match.

Group F: Zhejiang FC (CHN) 1-0 Persib Bandung (IDN)

Hangzhou: Jean Kouassi netted the only goal of the game as China PR's Zhejiang FC saw off a stubborn Persib Bandung of Indonesia in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 Group F tie on Thursday.

It was Zhejiang's first win, as they joined Lion City Sailors of Singapore and Port FC of Thailand on three points.

The Port FC-Lion City Sailors tie was postponed due to adverse weather conditions in Pathum Thani.

Petaling Jaya:  Malaysia’s Selangor FC secured their first win in Group H of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 after defeating Dynamic Herb Cebu FC of Philippines 1-0 on Thursday.

Despite dominating from start to finish, the Red Giants had to be satisfied with Yohandry Orozco’s first half goal with the win taking them to four points.

Manila: Australia’s Sydney FC overcame a one-goal deficit to defeat Kaya FC-Iloilo of the Philippines 4-1 in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 Group E tie at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex on Thursday.

Sydney shrugged off early resistance from Kaya to make it two wins out of two, having powered to a 5-0 victory over Hong Kong’s Eastern on opening day.

Group H: Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC (KOR) 4-1 Muangthong United FC (THA)

Jeonju: Three goals in nine second half minutes saw Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors hand Thailand’s Muangthong United a 4-1 defeat at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on Thursday as the former continental champions claimed a second win in Group H of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25.

Moon Seon-min scored in the 51st and 59th minutes with his goals coming either side of a strike by 55th minute effort from Lee Yeong-jae as the K-League side followed up their opening victory over Dynamic Herb Cebu in style.

Sorawit Panthong did pull one back for Muangthong in the 66th minute but Jin Tae-ho restored the three-goal cushion with six minutes remaining to complete an empathic second half performance from the hosts.

The outcome marked a significant turnaround after Muangthong had created the better chances in the opening 45 minutes without finding the net.

Wuhan: Naema Ibrahim’s brace earned UAE’s Abu Dhabi Country Club a stunning come-from-behind 2-1 win against Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC of China PR in their AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 Group A tie on Thursday.

Wuhan Jiangda dominated the contest at Hankou Recreation and Sports Center with Kabange Mupopo getting the early goal but Abu Dhabi fought back through two late Ibrahim efforts to completely turn the game on its head.
