Group E: Sydney FC (AUS) 5-0 Eastern (HKG)

Sydney: Debutant Anas Ouahim scored twice as Sydney FC eased to an opening 5-0 win over Eastern FC from Hong Kong, China in Group E of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 at Jubilee Stadium in Sydney on Thursday.

The Moroccan put his new club in front in the 32nd minute before hitting the third 10 minutes after the restart with captain Rhyan Grant having doubled the lead a minute before the end of the first half.

While a missed penalty in the 62nd minute took some of the shine off the performance of Patryk Klimala, another recent arrival, a pair of own goals from Daniel Almazan and Leung Chun Pong confirmed a comfortable victory for Sydney.

Hiroshima: Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan produced a clinical performance to defeat Philippines’ Kaya FC-Iloilo 3-0 in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 Group E match on Thursday.

The Japanese side dominated from start to finish with Makoto Mitsuta the creative fulcrum as Sanfrecce provided an early indication that they could be one of the teams to look out for in this competition.
