Kim: Preparation the key for dominant Jeonbuk display against Muangthong

Jeonju: Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC head coach Kim Do-heon credited his team’s thorough preparation for their commanding 4-1 win over Muangthong United in the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 on Thursday.

The K League 1 side executed their game plan to near perfection, leaving their Thai opponents with little room to manoeuvre as they kept their winning momentum to lead Group H with six points, having beaten Philippines’ Dynamic Cebu Herb FC 6-0 on Matchday One.

Klimala praises Sydney FC’s maturity; Hoshide rues tough lessons

Manila: Player of the match Patryk Klimala said Sydney FC overcame early jitters to mount their come-from-behind 4-1 win against Kaya FC–Iloilo of the Philippines in their AFC Champions League  Two™ 2024/25 Group E tie on Thursday.

Kaya stunned the visitors with the opening goal before Sydney FC turned in a determined performance with Klimala netting a brace to steer his side to their second victory following their 5-0 defeat of Hong Kong’s Eastern on Matchday One.

Group H: Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC (KOR) 4-1 Muangthong United FC (THA)

Jeonju: Three goals in nine second half minutes saw Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors hand Thailand’s Muangthong United a 4-1 defeat at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on Thursday as the former continental champions claimed a second win in Group H of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25.

Moon Seon-min scored in the 51st and 59th minutes with his goals coming either side of a strike by 55th minute effort from Lee Yeong-jae as the K-League side followed up their opening victory over Dynamic Herb Cebu in style.

Sorawit Panthong did pull one back for Muangthong in the 66th minute but Jin Tae-ho restored the three-goal cushion with six minutes remaining to complete an empathic second half performance from the hosts.

The outcome marked a significant turnaround after Muangthong had created the better chances in the opening 45 minutes without finding the net.

Petaling Jaya:  Malaysia’s Selangor FC secured their first win in Group H of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 after defeating Dynamic Herb Cebu FC of Philippines 1-0 on Thursday.

Despite dominating from start to finish, the Red Giants had to be satisfied with Yohandry Orozco’s first half goal with the win taking them to four points.
