Chonburi: Therdsak Chaiman scored a brace as Chonburi successfully translated their continental success into the domestic league beating Osotspa 3-1 in Thai Premier League on Sunday.
It was a nice end of the week for Chaiman who had scored the decisive goal in Chonburi’s 1-0 AFC Cup win over Myanmar’s Yangon United during the midweek which helped the Sharks to seal a place in the last 16 of the competition with one match to spare.
Chaiman opened the scoring in the 28th minute but Chananan Pombuppha scored against the run of play to make it 1-1 in the 52nd minute. Local lad Skuree Etae made it 2-1 in the 78th minute and in-form Chaiman sealed the comfortable win scoring his second and team’s third in stoppage time.
Chonburi will travel to Singapore to face Home United next week which would decide the group winners as both sides have already qualified for the knockout stages. After netting 11 points, one above the Protectors, Chonburi have the luxury to draw the match and finish top of Group G.
