Kota Bharu: Reigning Malaysian Super League champions Kelantan moved to within three points of leaders Singapore Lions XII as the 2012 AFC Cup quarter-finalists defeated Sabah 2-0.
Defender Rizal Fahmi headed home a Badri Radzi free-kick with quarter-of-an-hour at the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium played before the Kelantan captain again provided the assist for the Red Warriors' second, with the 30-year-old midfielder setting up Indra Putra Mahayuddin for the second towards the end of the fixture.
Kelantan, who have lost just once this MSL season, are on 47 points from 20 matches, four games fewer than the league-leading Lions who have 50 points.
Kelantan take on Iraq outfit Arbil in the quarter-finals of the 2012 AFC Cup with last year's semi-finalists hosting the first-leg on September 18 before the action shifts to Malaysia for the return fixture a week later.
