Qasim concerned about Air Force ace Ahmad's absence

Doha: Air Force Club coach Basim Qasim was left lamenting the absence of the tournament’s leading scorer Hammadi Ahmad after seeing his side held to a 1-1 draw by Lebanon’s Al Ahed FC in the first leg of their 2016 AFC Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening.

Syrian midfielder Zanier Al Medani gave the Iraqi side the lead in the 24th minute before Hussein Dakik levelled for the Lebanese to set up what promises to be an enthralling second leg in Beirut in three weeks’ time.

But despite the result, it was the loss of the suspended Ahmad - who has scored 14 goals in this year’s tournament so far - that most concerned Qasim after the spoils were shared at the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.
