Doha: Head coach Razvan Lucescu says Al Hilal SFC will have nothing to lose when they meet Brazil’s Flamengo in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 at Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday.

Al Hilal advanced to the last four stage after edging CAF Champions League winners Esperance de Tunis 1-0 in the second round on Saturday and are one match away from marking their tournament debut with a spot in the final.

Al Hilal looking forward to Flamengo challenge

Doha: Al Hilal SFC can't wait to lock horns with Brazil's Flamengo in the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 semi-finals on Tuesday. 

The 2019 AFC Champions League winners defeated Esperance de Tunis 1-0 in the second round on Saturday, with substitute Bafetimbi Gomis' goal ensuring a plum tie against Copa Libertadores champions Flamengo.

Doha: Head coach Razvan Lucescu said Al Hilal SFC deserved their 1-0 win against Esperance de Tunis in the second round of the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.

Al Hilal owed their win to French forward Bafetimbi Gomis, who came off the bench to score the only goal in the 73rd minute to steer the 2019 AFC Champions League winners into the semi-finals.

Doha: A second half goal from Bafetimbi Gomis steered Al Hilal SFC to a 1-0 win against Esperance de Tunis in the second round of the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.

Gomis emerged as the hero for Al Hilal as he came off the bench in the 65th minute to score the only goal eight minutes later to steer Al Hilal into the semi-finals where they will meet Copa Libertadores champions Flamengo.

Doha: Head coach Xavi Hernandez wants Al Sadd to finish fifth in the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 despite acknowledging they will have a “tough task” against Esperance de Tunis at Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday.

Al-Sadd were aiming to qualify for the semi-finals but lost 3-2 to Monterrey of Mexico last Saturday, ending their hopes of, at least, emulating the 2011 squad who advanced to the last four stage of the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup.

Monterrey scored two of their three goals after mistakes by Al Sadd players as the CONCACAF Champions League winners advanced to a semi-final meeting with English side Liverpool on Wednesday.
