AFC teams up with global flooring group Gerflor

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced a new partnership with global flooring group Gerflor for the AFC Futsal competitions in 2022 and 2023.

Gerflor will become an Official Tournament Supporter for AFC Futsal competitions, covering the upcoming AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022™ and the AFC Futsal Club Championship 2023™.

7th AFC Elite Club Coaches Forum 2022 focuses on rising coaching trends

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) organised the 7th AFC Elite Club Coaches Forum 2022 yesterday which served as a platform for renowned coaches and technical experts to exchange views and discuss the evolving nature of football in modern times. 

Chaired by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Technical Director, Andy Roxburgh, the online session was attended by a star-studded cast featuring the likes of FIFA Technical expert Holger Osieck, UEFA Technical Advisor and Celtic FC legend Patrick Bonner, Al Duhail SC head coach and former Argentine national team player, Hernan Crespo, and Leonardo Jardim, who led Al Hilal SFC to their record fourth AFC Champions League title last season.

Hong Kong: Hong Kong downed Myanmar 2-0 on Wednesday in a closed door international friendly to win their first game on home soil in almost three years, with two goals in a minute in the first half earning Jorn Andersen’s AFC Asian Cup 2023™-bound side victory at Mongkok Stadium.

Hong Kong had not played at home since a 2-0 victory over Cambodia in the opening round of Asia’s preliminaries for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 in November 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but made light work of their visitors.

AFC Coaching Convention approves Lao Football Federation’s B Level membership

Vientiane: The Lao Football Federation (LFF)’s comprehensive strategy to bolster and widen the reach of Coach Education was rewarded with the AFC Coaching Convention B Level membership.

Led by former Singapore national team player and current LFF Technical Director V. Sundramoorthy, the theory and practical sessions were separated in three parts and organised from June to August.
