Dubai: Al Tai climbed off of the bottom of the Saudi Pro League table following their surprise 2-1 victory over Al Nassr, while Al Feiha held defending champions Al Hilal SFC.

In Iraq, Mahmoud Al Mawas and Abdoul Madjid Moumouni steered Al Shorta to a 2-0 win over Naft Maysan.

Local players selected as Bell ramps up Korea Republic’s India 2022 preparations

Seoul: Korea Republic have outlined the next step of their AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 preparation, with 23 domestic-based players called up for a training camp by head coach Colin Bell on Monday.

The late December camp, which falls outside of a FIFA international window, will be held without European-based stars Ji So-yun, Cho So-hyun and Lee Geum-min, who will remain with their respective clubs until the continental Finals begin in January.

Korea Republic have been drawn alongside Japan, Vietnam, and Myanmar in a highly competitive Group C at the Asian showpiece, with their campaign to begin against Vietnam in Pune on January 21.

HKFA widens grassroots initiatives to parents

Hong Kong: The Hong Kong Football Association LTD. (HKFA), a silver member in the AFC Grassroots Charter, has extended their grassroots activities to parents by launching an innovative Parents Volunteer Programme – Parents Seminar and Workshop. 

HKFA aims to provide a safer and conducive environment for children, and the latest series of programmes were mooted to encourage better parental support that is proven to help in the development of young children in the sport.

Singapore: Vietnam and Indonesia were at full throttle as they secured wins on Matchday Three of the AFF Cup on Sunday.

Five different goalscorers found the back of the net in Indonesia’s 5-1 win over Laos to close in on a ninth appearance in the knockout stage.
