Group E: Sanfrecce Hiroshima (JPN) 3-0 Kaya FC-Iloilo (PHI)

Hiroshima: Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan produced a clinical performance to defeat Philippines’ Kaya FC-Iloilo 3-0 in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 Group E match on Thursday.

The Japanese side dominated from start to finish with Makoto Mitsuta the creative fulcrum as Sanfrecce provided an early indication that they could be one of the teams to look out for in this competition.

Oman and Silhavy part ways

Muscat: The Oman Football Association announced on Thursday the departure of men’s head coach Jaroslav Silhavy by mutual consent. 

The Czech assumed his role in February and guided Oman through to the third round of the Asian Qualifiers but mixed results since has left OFA seeking different avenues.

Kuwait SC’s Jovovic, Nasaf’s Berdiev satisfied despite stalemate

Ardiya: While both wanted a win, the point earned from their goalless draw in their AFC Champions League Two™ Group D match was still an acceptable outcome for Kuwait SC’s Nebojsa Jovovic and Ruzikul Berdiev of PFC Nasaf.

Arruabarrena confident of Al Taawoun’s title chances

Riffa: Al Taawoun head coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena believes his side are well equipped to challenge for the AFC Champions League Two 2024/25 title after opening their Group B campaign with a 3-2 win against Al Khaldiya on Wednesday. 

Despite the scoreline suggesting otherwise, Saudi Arabia’s Al Taawoun were in full control of the tie at the Bahrain National Stadium.
