Europe Wrap: Furuhashi fires Celtic to League Cup; Azmoun stars for Leverkusen

Kuala Lumpur: Australian head coach Ange Postecoglou bagged a second League Cup in as many seasons in Scotland as a double from his prolific Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi helped Celtic defeat archrivals Rangers 2-1 in an Old Firm final at the Hampden Park in Glasgow on Sunday. 

Islamic Republic of Iran striker Sardar Azmoun scored his first goal for Bayer Leverkusen in 10 months to help his side secure a draw with Freiburg in Germany, while in France, Japan winger Junya Ito netted the opener and was then involved in both of the other goals in Stade de Reims’ 3-0 win over Toulouse.
