Japan go down to Iceland as Ikeda begins reign with defeat

Almere: Japan suffered a 2-0 defeat to Iceland in an international friendly match on Thursday ahead of their AFC Women's Asian Cup title defence.

Iceland scored with their only shots on target as Futoshi Ikeda began his reign as Nadeshiko head coach with a defeat at the Yanmar Stadium.

Lee: Daegu’s conservative approach vital in first leg Korean FA Cup win against Jeonnam

Seoul: Head coach Lee Byung-geun revealed his defensive approach against Jeonnam Dragons was the key reason for Daegu FC’s 1-0 victory in the first leg of the Korean FA Cup Final on Wednesday.

Daegu, who won their first and only FA Cup title in 2018, clinched the first leg win through a 26th minute Bruno Lamas penalty at Gwangyang Football Stadium.

The second leg will be played at the Forest Arena on December 11 with the winners to book a place in the 2022 AFC Champions League.
