Shomurodov, Masharipov headline Uzbekistan’s Navruz Cup squad

Tashkent: Eldor Shomurodov and Jaloliddin Masharipov are among the seven overseas based named in Srečko Katanec’s Uzbekistan squad for this month’s Navruz Cup.

Announced on Saturday morning, the 25-man contingent will face neighbours Kyrgyz Republic in Namangan on March 25, with the winners to advance to the tournament final against either Tajikistan or Uganda four days later.

Beirut: Head coach Ivan Hasek will be missing the services of three key players for Lebanon’s final AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar™ Group A matches against Syria and Islamic Republic of Iran.

Robert Alexander Melki, his brother George Felix and forward Soony Saad were all ruled out by injuries when Hasek announced a 24-man squad on Friday.
