Ho Chi Minh: Sheng Fa Chi notched a brace as Chinese Taipei secured a place in the AFC Futsal Championship 2014 finals after ensuring top-three place from the East Zone qualifiers by beating Macau 3-1 on Sunday.
Chinese Taipei are unbeaten in the qualifiers and remain second behind China in the table with nine points from three matches. They will take on China, who defeated Korea Republic 2-0 and ensured qualifications to the finals, in their last match of the campaign as the winner will finish the group on top.
The top-three ranked teams of the qualifiers in each zone other than those teams which have already pre-qualified (Japan, Thailand, Iran and the host of the AFC Futsal Championship 2014 Finals) qualify directly.
Chi opened Chinese Taipei’s account in the 3rd minute and doubled the lead in the 17th minute. Chen Chia Ho scored Chinese Taipei’s third goal in one minute into the second half as they calmly held on to their lead despite Cheng Hou Kong pulling one back for Macau in the 28th minute.
