Putrajaya: AFC Corporate Social Responsibility Department will take part in the World Marketing Summit 2013 in Malaysian federal territory Putrajaya from September 28 to 30.
The World Marketing Summit is a venue where some of the most innovative minds from various industries come together to explore ways to achieve the United Nation’s eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by integrating brand marketing with affirmative action as a solution to tackle socio-economic issues on a global scale.
The MDGs are international development goals that all 189 United Nations (UN) member states and at least 23 international organisations have agreed to achieve by the year 2015.
Through its involvement in the summit, AFC aims to invite the corporate and non-profit sectors to join hands with the continental football body for social development causes.
FIFA Vice President and Chairman of AFC Social Responsibility Committee HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein will deliver a recorded speech during the summit, explaining about the AFC’s social responsibility initiatives such as Dream Asia and its partnership with the Asian Football Development Project (AFDP) and their activities and future plans.
AFC, in cooperation with the Malaysian Blind Sports Association, will also organise a Blind Futsal Demonstration, and also an Intellectually Disabled Children’s Football Demonstration in collaboration with Special Olympics Malaysia, at the summit.
Malaysian Free Style Football players will showcase their skills to the delegates and an exhibition booth at the summit will showcase AFC Dream Asia and AFDP programmes.
Close to 2,000 renowned delegates and speakers in the marketing industry from around the world are expected to attend the three-day summit.
AFC regroups more than half the population of the world and will show how football can bring strong values and partnership to individual lives.
