Ho Chi Minh: Myanmar clinched their first win in their AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship ASEAN region campaign as they beat Cambodia 6-0 at Thong Nhat Stadium in Vietnam on Wednesday.
Myanmar, who lost 3-2 to Thailand in their opening game on Tuesday, were ahead of the Cambodians 3-0 at the break before doubling their lead to 6-0 at full time.
Defender Thinzar Cho opened the scoring for Zin Mar Wann’s side on 13 minutes before completing her triple that included a goal in stoppage time.
Skipper striker Khine Thazin Phoo had a double with goals after 34 and 53 minutes while substitute scored a goal on 56 minutes.
Myanmar are now on third spot on three points from two games while the winless Cambodians occupy fifth position.
In two other matches that day, hosts Vietnam beat the Philippines 4-0 while Thailand whipped Malaysia 8-1.
Myanmar will face Vietnam next on Thursday while Cambodia, who opened their campaign with a 7-1 loss to the Philippines, take on Thailand.
