Kuala Lumpur: AFC has asked its Member Associations to ensure that clubs participating in all the AFC competitions fulfill the club licensing criteria by 2013.
AFC has made it a requirement for all the clubs who wish to take part in the AFC competitions from 2013 onwards to adhere to the club licensing regulations.
“This year is very important for all of us (AFC and Member Associations) as the previous year was the year of preparation and the year 2012 is implementation year,” AFC Director of Competitions Tokuaki Suzuki said addressing the participants during the opening of the Club Licensing Manager Seminar under Elite Education Seminar 2012 on Friday at the AFC House.
Suzuki also highlighted the importance AFC has given to ensure that the clubs participating in AFC competitions are thoroughly licensed by setting up a special project for professional clubs.
“We have set up a professional football project in AFC which helps the Member Associations and respective club licensing managers maintain coordination and provide platform to share knowledge with AFC.”
A total of 15 participants from the same number of countries excluding two observers attended the seminar. UEFA’s Giancarlo Dapoto and Scotland Football Association Club Licensing Manager Derek Hunter informed about UEFA Club Licensing system, Financial Fair Play and best practices of European national clubs’ licensing regulations.
