Seville: Spanish football club Real Betis announced the signing of Japan’s Takashi Inui from SD Eibar for three seasons on Friday.
The 29-year-old made his professional football debut with J.League side Yokohama F. Marinos in 2007, and was then transferred to Cerezo Osaka in 2009.
From 2011 to 2015, the Japan international played in Germany with Vfl Bochum and Eintracht Frankfurt, before making his way to the Spanish League with Eibar in 2015 where he spent nearly three years.
“I’m really happy and glad,” declared Inui. “I want to play at Betis because I love the way they play.”
Betis finished sixth in the La Liga standings with 60 points last season, while Eibar finished ninth with 51 points.
Inui will also be featuring in the Samurai Blue’s FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Group H campaign, following Japan head coach Akira Nishino’s squad announcement on Thursday.
Japan will first take on Colombia on June 19, before facing Senegal and Poland on June 24 and 28 respectively.
