Mashhad: Hosts Iran recorded another big win in the Group D qualifiers of the AFC U-14 Championship 2014 after thrashing Kyrgyzstan 9-1 on Monday at the Samen Al Aemeh Stadium.
The big win ensured the Iranians pole position in Group D with superior goal difference over second-placed Pakistan who, like Iran, have also recorded wins in all their matches played in the competition. The Monday’s top-of-the-table clash between Pakistan and Iran will decide the winner who will qualify for the finals of the AFC U-14 Championship 2014.
Midfielder Zabihollah Kohkan and striker Mahdi Mohammedyari scored a brace each while there were goal apiece from Mohammed Reza, Hamidreza Akbari, Benyamin Zamani, Ahmad Mazouri and Mohammedreza Davari.
It was a disappointing campaign for Kyrgyzstan who bagged a single point from the four matches they played in the tournament. They managed to score three goals conceding massive 22.
