Beirut: Hassan Ali Saad has been named to feature in the Lebanon squad as they gear up to continue their AFC Asian Cup 2015 qualifying campaign this November.
Lebanon’s Italian boss Giuseppe Giannini has announced the 27-player line-up for two upcoming second-leg matches – against Kuwait on November 15 at Kuwait City and with Iran four days later at home.
American-born Saad, popularly known as Soony Saad, plies his trade at Major League Soccer outfit Sporting Kansas City in the USA.
In May 2013, the 21-year-old became eligible to play for the Lebanon national team and scored Lebanon's goal in their friendly against Oman on May 29 which finished in a 1-1 draw.
Lebanon are currently at third spot in the four-team qualifying Group B table sitting on four points from three matches.
They began their qualifying campaign with a 5-0 drubbing by Iran before they went on to outplay Thailand 5-2, and then drawing 1-1 with Kuwait.
The Lebanese will wrap up their campaign by clashing with Thailand in their pursuit of a ticket to the 2015 Asian Cup to be held in Australia.
