Ipoh: Malaysian state of Perak is holding its first AFC Futsal Level 1 Coaching Certificate Course attended by 20 participants including five women.
The course, held from 24 to 29 March at the Indera Mulia Stadium in the state’s capital city, is being co-organised by the Government Servants’ Welfare and Recreation Council (Majlis Kebajikan dan Rekreasi Kakitangan Kerajaan or MAKSAK) Malaysia and Perak Football Association and is the ninth such a course in the ASEAN nation.
Two of the participant are national women’s futsal players while the rest of the participants were selected by MAKSAK to prepare for the 2014 MAKSAK Futsal Championship this coming September.
The course aims at educating and developing potential futsal coaches in the nation with proper futsal information.
“I strongly believe that this coaching course will be able to develop more potential futsal coaches for MAKSAK and these coaches are going to be responsible to train and produce more men’s and women’s futsal players in the state and nation in the near future,” Anas Mohd Yusof, Assistant General Secretary of MAKSAK Perak, said.
“We would like to thank the AFC and Football Association of Malaysia for their approval to hold this course and wish to see more coaching courses introduced in Malaysia under MAKSAK to raise the standard of futsal.
“At the same time MAKSAK Malaysia is looking forward to organising more AFC Futsal Levels 1 and 2 Certificate Coaching Courses.”
The course is conducted by AFC Futsal Instructor Chiew Chun Yong of Malaysia assisted by Dali Mohd Wahid.
The Level 1 certificate is the basic futsal coaching credential from which holders can proceed to take the next and higher qualification, the Level 2 certificate.
