Amman: Palestine finished as the runners-up in the 2014 AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship for the West region after downing Qatar 3-0 at Petra Stadium in the Jordanian capital on Sunday.
Palestine are the only side to have played all their four matches in the campaign while the other four teams will play their last round on Tuesday. They also finished as the runners-up in the first edition of the championship last year.
The Palestinians accumulated nine points having won three matches and lost one. Last year's champions Jordan have also accumulated nine points but sit above Palestine on goal difference. Qatar, meanwhile, currently occupy bottom position.
The 2013 runners-up led the Qataris 1-0 at half time before adding two more goals to empathically win their fourth match.
Midfielder Aline Khourty scored their first goal on 31 minutes before Laila K. S. Al Shaikh got in their second on 60 minutes. Substitute Namir Hamad who came on the pitch on 57 minutes registered the Palestinians’ third goal 10 minutes later.
Last year’s fair play award winners Qatar will aim to gain their only win in their campaign as they take on the UAE in their last match.
