Kuala Lumpur: Members of Batch 2011 of the AFC Project Future Referees development programme will head for Japan for their Third Development Course from March 20 to 25 where they will be officiating in an international U-18 competition.
The course will be the fourth one organised by the AFC, where the young officials will be refereeing matches in the Sanix Cup International Youth Tournament 2013 in Fukuoka.
The tournament organisers are the Kyushu Football Association and Sanix Sports Foundation with the Japan Football Association being the co-organisers.
The course instructors are AFC Project Future Referees Manager George Cumming (SCO), FIFA/AFC Instructor Noboru Ishiyama (JPN) and AFC Instructor John Chia (SIN).
A one-day preparatory session will be held on March 21 with the theoretical component taking place in the morning and practical training in the afternoon.
The course participants will referee 11 matches in the competition where 12 local teams and four foreign teams -- from Vietnam, England, Australia and China -- will be taking part.
The referees attending the course are Zhang Cheng (CHN), Chen Hsin-chuan (TPE), Takuma Matsuda (JPN), Kim Woo-sung (KOR), Rahul Eric Dsa (IND), Nayim Qosimov(UZB), Khalid Saleh H Al Turais (KSA), Hanna Hattab (SYR), and Zaid Thamer Mohammed Mohammed (IRQ).
