Chonburi: The head coaches of both Japan and DPR Korea believe Saturday’s AFC U-19 Women’s Championship final between their two sides will provide valuable experience as they build towards competing at next year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The East Asian powerhouses are set to meet in the Continental title showdown for a third successive edition after five-time title winners Japan beat Australia 7-0 and DPR Korea defeated Korea Republic 3-1 in their respective semi-final ties.

Chonburi: Australia head coach Leah Blayney has declared that Australia will be ready, willing and able when they meet Korea Republic on Saturday to determine third place at the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship and finalise Asia’s last slot at next year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s Cup.
The Young Matildas head into the game having lost 7-0 to Japan in the semi-finals after a distinctly encouraging group stage campaign which saw them finish second in Group A behind DPR Korea.

Chonburi: Kim Kyong-yong believes DPR Korea’s nerves of steel will help them beat defending champions Japan when the sides clash in the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 final on Saturday.
Kim scored twice as DPR Korea defeated Korea Republic 3-1 on Wednesday to claim their place in the eagerly anticipated title showdown, while Japan showed their pedigree with a comprehensive 7-0 win over Australia in the other semi-final.
Both teams have a long-standing history in the competition, with five-time champions Japan winning the tournament’s 2011, 2015 and 2017 finals against the Koreans.

Chonburi: Super-sub Maho Hirosawa is confident Japan can clinch a record-breaking third consecutive AFC U-19 Women’s Championship title when they face DPR Korea in the 2019 edition’s final on Saturday.
Hirosawa, came on as a second-half substitute and scored a brace in Japan’s 7-0 win over Australia on Wednesday, as the competition’s five-time winners set up their showdown with DPR Korea who defeated Korea Republic 3-1 in the other semi-final.
Japan are the most successful side having won the AFC U-19 Women's Championship in 2002, 2009, 2011, 2015 and 2017 and can land their sixth title if they beat DPR Korea in the final.

Kim Kyong-yong’s brace laid the foundations for the impressive victory, one which sees the 2007 champions DPR Korea advance to their fifth successive title showdown at this level.
Korea Republic, meanwhile, remain in the running for a World Cup ticket as they will now face the losers of the other semi-final tie between Japan and Australia to battle it out for Asia’s third berth at the global extravaganza.
