Kuwait City: AFC Cup 2014 contenders Qadsia SC will be without the services of prolific Syrian national team striker Omar Al Soma for the remaining stages of the competition after letting Soma join ACL 2012 finalists Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia.
The 24-year old former Syria U-23 player has agreed terms with Al Ahli for two-years where he will replace outgoing Korea Republic’s 23-year old Jun Suk Hyun.
Soma has been outstanding for Qadsia this season netting six goals in five matches he played during the group stages of AFC Cup. He was on target three times against Iraqi champions Al Shorta in his last continental match for the Kuwaiti side.
Al Ahli have finished the Saudi Pro League season third behind champions Al Nasr and Al Hilal.
Qadsia SC will face Jordan’s That Ras at home next week in the Round of 16 match. They finished last year’s AFC Cup as runners-up behind fellow Kuwaiti side Kuwait SC.
