Kuala Lumpur: The recent real life-intensive training of the AFC Project Future Coaches Batch 2010 in Doha, Qatar, has been an effective component in the training of young coaches aimed at taking the Asian game higher.
The modules covered such as Conditioning Football Player, Technical and Tactical Attacking, Transition of Play, Pre-Match Training and Recovery Sessions and Match Analysis involving a real continental club match have tremendously increased the confidence of the participating coaches.
The young and budding coaches were in Doha last week for the foreign attachment phase of their two-year training under the PF Coaches programme.
Manager for the programme, Georg Kottan, has noted the positive reactions among the participants and the instructor especially the practical aspect of the training event hosted by the Qatar FA.
“The coaches who took part in the course in Doha were happy with the course especially the highly intensive practical component of the course,” Kottan told the-afc.com.
“For one, the Match Analysis module of the course during which they went to watch Qatar’s AFC Champions League contenders Al Gharafa trained and played against Al Shabab Al Arabi of the UAE was really welcomed by the coaches.
“The instructor in the course, Qatari Ahmed Omar Sh. Festook, was also satisfied with the outcome of the course especially the practical part and with the performance of the group which he said was a strong batch.
“The participants felt they had learned a lot from the course and both they and instructor wished the course duration was longer.”
Foreign attachment is a regular feature in the Project Future Coaches programme and members of the various batches have undergone attachment courses in countries such as Korea Republic, Spain and Germany to further hone their coaching skills.
At the end of the two-year training period, the Project Future Coaches graduate with the AFC ‘B’ Football Coaching Certificate, providing them with the qualification and experience necessary to build Asian football.
