Kathmandu: Indian captain Sunil Chettri scored an equaliser in the 95th minute to salvage a hard-fought 1-1 draw in a Group A match in the ongoing South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship 2013.
In the match played at the Halchowk Stadium, Bangladesh were on course to win their first match of the campaign after Atiqur Meshu put them 1-0 ahead in the 82nd minute.
But Chettri struck in the fifth minute of stoppage time to bring India back into contention leaving Bangladesh on the verge of elimination.
India are second behind leaders Nepal who also scored a stoppage-time equaliser against Pakistan later at the Dashrath Stadium. India face Nepal in the last group stages match on Thursday while Bangladesh and Pakistan meet each other at the Halchowk Stadium in a simultaneous kickoff match with all four sides yet to secure their places in the semi-finals.
Nepal and India have four points from two matches played so far while Bangladesh and Pakistan have a point each from the same number of matches.
