Nay Pyi Taw: Singapore and Indonesia drew goalless in their third qualifying Group F match of the AFC U-14 Championship 2014 at Zeyar Thiri Stadium in Myanmar on Friday.
Singapore and Indonesia currently occupy second and third positions respectively in the group and their failure to secure a win strengthened further Thailand’s position on top.
Both Singapore and Indonesia sit on four points each, five adrift of Thailand, and both teams still have a chance to top the group and qualify for the finals as they have two more games each.
Nor Azli Bin Mohd-led Singapore face Bangladesh who are now sitting at the bottom of the group while Indonesia head-coached by Mundari Karya are up against Laos on Sunday.
Iran, Korea Republic, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, DPR Korea and Iraq have already booked their tickets to the finals after finishing their respective qualifying groups.
The results of the ongoing Group F and also Group E, both in Myanmar, will complete the qualification stage of the eight-nation inaugural U-14 tournament.
Group F standings as of Saturday:
Thailand – 9 points
Singapore – 4 points
Indonesia – 4 points
Laos – 4 points
