The 24-year-old has penned an initial two-and-a-half-year deal with an option for a further twelve months. Melbourne-born Wright had been at Preston since 2010, making 205 appearances for the Lilywhites and helping in their 2015 promotion from League One. Wright has played 12 times for his country, and travelled with the Socceroos to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The former Victoria Institute of Sport star continues to feature regularly in Australia head coach Ange Postecoglou’s squads during qualification for the 2018 global extravaganza in Russia – a campaign which will continue against Iraq on March 23.
