London: Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min netted twice for the north London club on Saturday to further extend his own record for the most goals scored by a Korean during an English Premier League season.
Son, who also hit the bar late on with a firm drive, expertly grabbed Tottenham’s final two goals in a comprehensive 4-0 win over Watford, registering his tenth and 11th goals of a prodigious top-flight campaign in the process.
The 24-year-old’s brace comes hot on the heels of the goal he bagged during Tottenham’s midweek victory over Swansea City – one which beat the previous record of eight set by compatriot and Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-yueng in the 2014-15 season.
Since starting his season with Tottenham in August, Son has also scored six times in the FA Cup - including a quarter-final hat-trick against Millwall – as well as once against CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League, and once for his country in a 2018 FIFA World Cup defeat of Qatar.
