Stage set for grand finale to KL 2017 SEA Games men's football Group B

Kuala Lumpur: Thailand won, while Indonesia held a rampant Vietnam to ensure the semi-finalists from Group B of the Kuala Lumpur 2017 SEA Games men's football will only be decided on the final day of the preliminary round matches.

With Thailand having beaten Philippines 2-0 earlier on Tuesday, the pressure was on Vietnam and Indonesia to win but somehow, the exciting tie ended 0-0.

Vietnam would have rued the result more, as they failed to extend their dominance into goals and with Thailand up next for them, they could find themselves missing the knockout stage.  

Vietnam came into the match with a perfect record of three wins but in Indonesia, they were facing their first genuine challenge.

Indonesia had impressed in their 1-1 draw with Thailand on Matchday One before beating the Philippines and Timor Leste and a win would mean a semi-final berth would surely be theirs as they face Cambodia in their last match.
