Shah Alam: Thailand earned their fourth SEA Games men’s futsal goal medal after edging Malaysia 4-3, while Myanmar secured their first win after a 3-2 victory over Indonesia in the Kuala Lumpur 2017 SEA Games men’s futsal at the Panasonic Sports Complex on Sunday.
Following their 5-0 win over Indonesia, the host nation knew even a draw would be enough to crown them champions, while Thailand needed a win to retain the title.
It didn’t take long for Thailand to open the scoring, through Kristada Wongkeao in the fourth minute.
Playmaker Suphawut Thueanklang furthered their advantage in the 11th minute.
Two minutes from half-time, Apiwat Charoen gave Jose Maria Pazoz Mendez’s side a comfortable lead.
