Amman: Palestine clinched their second win in the AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship for the West region as they downed Bahrain 3-1 at Petra Stadium in Jordan on Friday.
Bahrain skipper Latifa Al Khalifa shed first blood with a penalty kick on 28 minutes but Jina HG Khannouf-led Palestine equalised through Majdolin MI Mohammad just two minutes later.
The Palestinians then took over the lead through the contribution of Laila KS Al Shaikh on 40 minutes before skipper and last year’s top scorer Rozeen NY Odeh took it to 3-1 three minutes later. She was later adjudged the match's MVP.
Palestine had opened their campaign with a 3- 2 win over the UAE while Bahrain defeated Qatar 3-0 in their curtain raiser on Thursday.
Khaled Hassan Taleb’s Palestinian who were runners-up in the 2013 edition take on the UAE while Palestine face off with reigning champions Jordan on Saturday.
