Doha: The inaugural edition of the AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship 2013 for West Asia has successfully concluded with the various winners celebrated after the final matches on Friday.
Five teams -- Jordan, Palestine, Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE -- took part in the competition.
Jordan, who were unbeaten in all their four matches, came away the winners after beating tournament archrivals Palestine 3-1 in the do-or-die match on Friday at the Al Arabi Stadium in the Qatari capital.
The match was the decider for both the Jordanians and Palestine, who had been neck-and-neck having won three matches each previously.
Palestine finished as the runners-up while Bahrain, who won two games out of four, went home as the third place winners. Qatar won the Fair Play Award.
The Palestinians however had another reason to go home with joy as Rozeen NY Odeh won the Top Goalscorer Award having found the net of their opponents 14 times.
