Sharjah: Uzbekistan have claimed their fourth win in a row after defeating Iraq 1-0 in Sharjah.
With just over two weeks to go until the AFC Asian Cup kicks off Jamshid Iskanderov scored the only goal of the match when he converted a penalty 13 minutes into the contest.
The sides are scheduled to face each other again on December 28.
Uzbekistan will then begin their AFC Asian Cup campaign against DPR Korea on January 10 before taking on China and Saudi Arabia.
Following their second clash with the White Wolves, Iraq's new coach Radhi Shenaishil will have one final chance to finalise his starting eleven for Asia's biggest football tournament when the 2007 AFC Asian Cup winners play Iran on January 4.
Shenaishil's side will begin their tilt at a second continental title when they face Jordan on January 12 before also taking on Japan and Palestine.
