AFC sends condolences on the passing of Prince Khalifa Al Khalifa

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) extends its deepest condolences to the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) following the demise of Bahrain’s Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa who passed away at the age of 84 on Wednesday.

As one of the world’s longest-serving prime ministers, Prince Khalifa played an integral part in Bahrain’s rapid growth throughout the years. He was an avid supporter and shared a great passion for sports. His legacy will be cherished and his valuable contributions to the development of Asian sports will always be remembered.

The thoughts and prayers of the AFC and the rest of the Asian football community are with the BFA, the Bahrain Royal family and the people of Bahrain during this difficult time.
