Shin hails Indonesia's hard work in triumph over Kuwait
Kuwait City: Indonesia head coach Shin Tae-yong hailed his players' hard work as key behind their winning start to the AFC Asian Cup 2023™ Qualifiers Final Round , a 2-1 victory over Group A hosts Kuwait on Wednesday.
Team Garuda had to battle to come from a goal down, with Youssef Nasser having headed Kuwait into the lead. Marc Klok equalised from the penalty spot just before the break and Rachmat Irianto sealed the win two minutes after the restart, pouncing on the rebound following a spilled save from the Kuwaiti goalkeeper.
The result marked Indonesia’s first-ever victory against Kuwait, having faced them twice in Asian Qualifiers and as many times in the AFC Asian Cup, losing once and drawing on three occasions. It also puts Indonesia in a fairly positive place ahead of games against Nepal and Jordan.

Thailand defeated Maldives 3-0 with hosts Uzbekistan also winning with a similar margin at the Markaziy Stadium.
Ahead of their meeting on Matchday Three, Thailand will have to navigate past Sri Lanka on Saturday while Uzbekistan face Maldives, with a win for either side boosting their chances of advancing into the Continental showpiece.
