Group C: Big wins give China PR, Japan early advantage

Pattaya: Japan and China PR began their journey at the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 with high-scoring Group C wins on Friday that cemented their positions as favourites to progress to the knockout stage.

China boosted their knockout stage hopes with 4-1 win over Lebanon while defending champions Japan outplayed Indonesia 7-0 .

Group C: Lebanon 1-4 China PR

Pattaya: China PR avenged their 2019 group stage defeat to Lebanon when they beat the West Asians 4-1 in their opening AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 Group C match on Friday.

The East Asians, who lost 5-3 to Lebanon in the last edition, will now look to go one better than their group stage exit in Pattaya in 2019.
