Kathmandu: DPR Korea's 2-0 semi-final win over Palestine set-up a tantalising rematch of the last AFC Challenge Cup final with Turkmenistan but while Monday's showdown has caught the imagination of the fans and media it is of little significance to head coach Yun Jong-su.
With Turkmenistan defeating the Philippines 2-1 in Friday's earlier semi-final the a win for DPR Korea would see the reigning champions defend their title against the nation they beat 4-1 on penalties to lift the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup trophy and book their place in the following year's AFC Asian Cup.
And thanks Pak Kwang-ryong's double the stage has been set although Yun has no interest in the historical significance.
"I was not coach when we played against them so I have no comments about that game," he said at the post-match press conference when asked about the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup final.
And Yun was equally business-like in his response when asked if he was concerned that the Koreans dominated the first-half against Palestine but had to wait until three minutes from the interval before finally translating their possession and dominance into something tangible.
"We don't really care whether the goals come late or early as we were able to score twice against Palestine and win the game.
"I am happy with the players and we will do our best in the final."
