Pathum Thani: Korea Republic captain Kim Myung-Jun was overjoyed with his team’s impressive 6-1 victory over Qatar in Group B of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 on Friday. 

Kim, who put in a captain’s performance with three goals, has set the bar high for himself after earning the Player of the Match award for his sterling performance.

Pathum Thani: Captain Kim Myung-jun netted a hat-trick to lead Korea Republic to a 6-1 win over Qatar in their AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 Group B opener on Friday. 

An impressive Korea Republic took a 3-1 lead going into the break, giving Qatar no chance with a sparkling performance at the Pathum Thani Stadium.

Bangkok: A commanding display from the Islamic Republic of Iran saw them get off to a winning start at the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 after putting six goals past Afghanistan on Friday.

The 6-1 result was a statement of intent from the 2008 champions, who outclassed opponents making only their second ever appearance in the competition.

Chonburi: Saudi Arabia head coach Abdulwahab Nasser Alharbi was delighted with the performance of his charges in their 2-0 defeat of Australia in their AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 Group C opener on Friday.

Describing it as a ‘tough game’, Alharbi said his team struggled in the first half due to Australia’s stronger physique and organisation but played better after the break and their performance paid off with goals from Nawaf Albishri and Nawaf Aljadaani.

Pathum Thani: As hosts Thailand began their AFC U17 Asian Cup™ 2023 campaign with a thrilling 2-1 win against Group A rivals Laos on Thursday, all eyes were on rising star Chanothai Kongmeng.

It was Chanothai’s clever cross that led to Dutsadee Buranajutanon deftly tucking the ball away into the bottom left corner of the net early in the first half. Laos, however, equalised minutes later but Thailand’s perseverance saw Chanothai netting the winner in the fifth minute of added time.

Pathum Thani: Esam Radman produced a captain’s performance to guide Yemen to a resounding 4-0 win over Malaysia in Group A of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 on Thursday. 

Victory at the Thammasat Stadium was a positive step for the West Asian side who have not advanced past the group stage following their runners-up finish in 2002.
