Preview - Group D: Vietnam v Uzbekistan

Pathum Thani: As Vietnam and Uzbekistan prepare to square off for the first time in tournament history on Friday, the mood in each camp is slightly different.

Both teams can still progress from Group D to the quarter-finals of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023, but it is Uzbekistan who hold the upper hand as a draw will suffice, while Vietnam require nothing less than all three points to have a chance.

Pathum Thani: Thailand head coach Pipob On-mo expressed his delight after his team defeated Yemen 1-0 to finish in pole position in Group A of the AFC U17 Asian Cup Thailand 2023.

Reflecting on the hard-fought win secured by substitute Tanakrit Lokman’s stoppage time goal,  Pipob said it the most challenging game the Southeast Asian side has played so far in the competition.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today confirmed the battle lines of the Preliminary and Playoff Stages of the AFC Cup™ and AFC Champions League™ 2023/24.

The race to secure a place in the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 Group Stage will begin in Hong Kong, China where Hong Kong Rangers will host Vietnam’s Haiphong FC on August 15, 2023, in the Preliminary Stage with the winners sealing a date with Korea Republic’s Incheon United FC in the Playoff Stage on August 22.

Bangkok: Thailand international midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin has signed for BG Pathum United, the Thai League 1 club announced on Wednesday.
